Wounded Warrior Project Hosts 8K Runs Across the Nation

As CEO of All Point Logistics, Inc., a management and technical support company, Phil Monkress oversaw more than 200 employees and contractors. In addition to his work with the Florida-based company, Phil Monkress supports several organizations, including the Wounded Warrior Project. Created in 2003 after the events of September 11, 2011, the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of veterans’ needs. Currently, the WWP sponsors 19 different programs and services for wounded veterans and their families.

To attract attention to wounded warriors, their families, and the organization, the WWP hosts several 8K running events across the country. For 2014, Jacksonville, Florida; San Antonio, Texas; and Franklin, Tennessee, will host the runs with registration beginning on May 1. All military personnel who possess a valid ID receive discounted prices to enter the races. The first place overall winner for men and women receives an award, as do individuals who finish first in each age division. For participants who are age 12 or younger, the 1K fun run is a great option.
